Giving Back To The Community
I got to tell you that last Saturday, June 4th 2011, was one of the best Saturday I have. A fellow colleague and I from Ennoble Investments volunteered for Habitat For Humanity. We went there just to volunteered our time and effort. What we didn’t know is that it will give us a sense of tranquility by doing so. I had a blast and it was so much fun. Just a great wonderful way to start the day. We met in the morning at 8:30am and it lasted until 2pm in the afternoon. There were eight other volunteers that showed up. Working under the sun, hammering away, putting up the wall of the house on the second floor, and working with other as a team, gave us a great sense of accomplishment. In the past, I have always donated in a monetary manner, but I got to tell you that it is no equal by giving your time and effort to help someone achieve their dream of home ownership. What I love about Habitat For Humanity is that it is not a charity. The new homeowner soon-to-be has to put in 300 hours of physical labor before he can get the house. It is just a great principle to help that new homeowner soon-to-be, but at the same time, he got to help himself by contributing his part. If you are reading this and you are looking to do some volunteering work, I highly recommend that you check out Habitat For Humanity (www.habitat.org). I will leave you with one of my favorite quote from Winston Churchill: “We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.” Have a great day! -R.E
